'Doomsday prophet' reveals why he was the target of duct-taped plane passenger's absolute meltdown

A man widely dubbed as a “doomsday prophet” has revealed himself as the seatmate of the realtor who suffered a mid-air anger attack that left him having to be duct taped to his seat.

Passenger Arthur Layne Lundeen, 67, was sitting with author Jonathan Cahn, also 67, when according to Cahn, what had previously been a polite conversation from Dallas descended into a torrent of allegedly racist and homophobic slurs, which was said to have included him shouting “Jesus is bulls**t.”

Cahn explained how the incident occurred on his YouTube channel. “I was the unidentified passenger and I was actually attacked, 30,000 feet in the sky. I was attacked on that plane,”

“I have never seen someone change in a split second from light to dark as I saw then, as if something had taken him over,” Cahn said. “He went from the friendliest guy in the world to this dark person.”

Cahn, who has 1.4 million YouTube subscribers, is the author of several books on the topic of biblical prophecy, which led him to predict an imminent global catastrophe.

The author claimed it was the cover of his latest novel, The Altar of Pergamon, which he explained invoked “the reality of the real power of god”, that triggered Lundeen to become abusive on the Newark-bound flight.

Lundeen is then understood to have become physical, snatching at Cahn’s laptop and creating a disturbance which resulted in the pilot activating an emergency landing to Baltimore.

“The plane is in shock, the pilot is radioing the ground, for an emergency landing. We’re fighting over my computer,” Cahn said, also describing how a black flight attendant was allegedly subjected to racist abuse and other passengers involved in the scuffle.

After his fellow passengers subdued Lundeen with the duct tape, Cahn described how one of them told the “crazed” property professional, “You were being tested. Got was testing you”.

Lundeen is facing charges of assault and disorderly conduct, according to police.
