A Florida man has been arrested after allegedly butchering a sex offender last month.
19-year-old Lucas Sander Jones was apprehended by the authorities after the 20 March murder of Collie Lee Daniel in Indialantic, Florida.
The 28-year-old, is someone police say was on the sex offender register after being found guilty in 2018 of an offence concerning a minor between the ages of 12 and 15.
He was then recorded on the Florida Department of Law Enforcement's sex offender database for the lewd or lascivious battery conviction.

According to the Mirror, the affidavit reveals that Jones had printed off a register of sex offenders in the area before beating Daniel to death with a baseball bat before dismembering the body using a cleaver and other tools.
However, police were alerted to the crime after Daniel’s parents grew worried that he hadn’t returned home, and after using a tracking function on his phone, they were taken to Jones’ address, he was then reported missing on March 22, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by Fox13.

But when Daniel didn’t emerge from the property, despite allegedly being told he was there by Jones – who wouldn’t let them inside -, they contacted the police.
While the authorities couldn’t able the property at that time, when they arrived the next day, they were apparently unable to locate the man, but Jones allegedly was sporting red marks on his arms and chest, puffy eyes and bruising to his shoulder, according to the arrest affidavit.
It was then on 28 March that reports of vultures circling an abandoned suitcase in a place called ‘The Compound’ in Palm Bay led to officers being greeted with a grim sight, and something you could only imagine coming from a scene out of Dexter.
Officers allegedly discovered human remains inside of two cases and items that connected Jones to the killing, including an Amazon parcel, per the Independent.
Jones was first apprehended on charges relating to the disposal of human remains but was arrested again and re-charged on first-degree murder.
According to Jones’ girlfriend and the affidavit, he had printed out the Florida Department of Law Enforcement website’s sex offender’s list prior to killing his victim, with the girlfriend stating she had arrived at his home prior to the police visit, claiming he admitted to her that he killed and butchered the man, per The Daily Star.
She said he had but the body with a cleaver, a saw and a knife, revealing how her partner told her not to communicate with the police, and divulged something police already knew but hasn’t made public: that Jones had kept some of the victim's blood.
Apparently, he had also used her car to transport the body parts to be disposed, and had her bring cleaning supplies to his home.
Authorities also claim that in his house, there were signs that black spray paint had been used; blood was on the walls and flooring, and also on his clothing.
There were also alleged signs of a cleanup attempt and that he had kept microscopic DNA, per Fox 35.

He is now facing multiple charges, including tampering with evidence, murder, dangerous and depraved without premeditation, abuse of a dead body, and transporting human remains in an unauthorised container.
He is currently being held with no bail.
