Chilling images of X-ray scans taken at Mexican border shows extreme ways people attempt to reach US

It shows just how much they're willing to do to reach the US

Chilling images of X-ray scans taken at the Mexican border have emphasised the extreme ways in which some people attempt to reach the United States.

Donald Trump promised a crackdown on immigration when he returned to the Oval Office in January for his second term of presidency, and we have certainly seen that so far, with the 79-year-old going as far as planning to use a controversial wartime law from 1798 as a way of deporting what he considers to be 'illegal aliens'.

While many of the people from Mexico immigrate to the US as a way of seeking better job opportunities, higher wages and a better quality of life, Trump has made it clear that his version of a perfect America is one filled with born and bred American people, emphasised by his recent travel ban for a wide range of countries in Asia and Africa.

Despite the threat of being classified as dead, or being sent to one of the world's worst prisons, it is clear that people are still desperate to start a new life in America, and will try to reach the country by whatever means necessary.

Heartbreaking images reveal that people are stowing themselves away in hidden compartments or improvised concealments within vehicles crossing the border, as a way of remaining undetected.

The Investing Planet shared a variety of images on Instagram, where the X-ray scanners revealed people to be in extremely uncomfortable places such as in compartments between wheels, or squeezed into thin areas between the driver's seat and the cargo.

While many may find this hard to believe, it's sadly an all too real reality for many immigrants trying to make it across the US border, with a man being found stuffed in a suitcase at Texas-Mexico border just last year, the Texas Scorecard reports.

After Trump's inauguration back in January, he promised to clamp down on immigration, with an official White House post stating: "Over the last four years, the prior administration invited, administered, and oversaw an unprecedented flood of illegal immigration into the United States.

"Millions of illegal aliens crossed our borders or were permitted to fly directly into the United States on commercial flights and allowed to settle in American communities, in violation of longstanding Federal laws.

"Many of these aliens unlawfully within the United States present significant threats to national security and public safety, committing vile and heinous acts against innocent Americans."

In the six months since, we have seen the White House posting disgusting deportation videos online, while the ICE officers that were deployed in Los Angeles helped to kickstart huge riots there earlier this year, showing that the President hasn't always had it his own way.

While Trump might consider these people aliens or a danger to America, many of them are just seeking a better way of life, and these chilling images prove just how far they are willing to go to try and achieve that.
