A teenager has died after taking part in a viral 'trend' called 'table surfing' and his parents have been warning others not to do it.
'Table surfing' involves the incredibly dangerous activity of flipping a table upside down, tying it to a car and having it be dragged along behind the moving vehicle while someone rides the piece of furniture.
A number of people have been trying it and filming themselves doing so, with the results sometimes going viral online to the point it has grown into a 'challenge'.
An incredibly dangerous trend, as people being dragged behind moving cars with nothing but an upturned table between them and the ground is unsafe for all sorts of reasons.

Sadly, 17-year-old American teenager David Nagy died while 'table surfing' as Inside Edition reported that while he was doing it, he was 'propelled into the grill of a parked car'.

The outlet explained that he'd been staying round with a friend and they waited until it was night time where they snuck out and tried 'table surfing' in their high school car park while recording the results.
Tragically, the table David was riding on 'swung out of control' and the teenager 'slammed into a parked car with deadly results'.
"He was so intelligent and he knew better, but still he was 17 years old," David's mum said of her son trying this incredibly dangerous thing, with his dad saying he was just 'a teenager'.
"I just feel like social media needs to realise that these these challenges and these things are enticing to young people. This is not something they would think of on their own."
They're hoping that by talking about it, other parents have an idea of what their children might be doing and what can happen when people try dangerous stunts.

While they didn't want him charged, the driver of the car was arrested for involuntary manslaughter.
Sadly, there are a number of parents who have lost their children to viral trends doing the rounds on the internet, with many making calls for social media sites to do more to identify these things and stop them from spreading.
Families have warned that people's children are being exposed to very dangerous stunts which gain a lot of attention, resulting in the children trying them themselves and putting themselves in a lot of danger.
Very many trends going round online have put people at risk of harm or even death, and in the end there's no way it's going to be worth it.
