Trump warns Putin will seek revenge following Ukraine's top secret 'Spider's Web' attack on Russia

The US president said the Russian leader was 'very strong' in his stance

Donald Trump has passed a troubling message on from Vladimir Putin following Ukraine's major drone attack.

The US President shared an eerie warning following an intense phone call with his Russian counterpart, who is currently still reeling from the Operation 'Spider's Web' attack which took place on Sunday (1 June).

Ukraine hit its enemy where it hurts just days ago, targeting various military bases across Russia with 117 drones and causing an estimated $7 billion (£5.1 billion) in damage.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who personally oversaw the 'perfectly executed' operation, said the attack had been meticulously planned over an 18-month period.

Announcing its success in a post on X, the 47-year-old leader wrote: "A brilliant operation was carried out - on enemy territory, targeting only military objectives, specifically the equipment used to strike Ukraine.

"Russia suffered significant losses - entirely justified and deserved. 34% of the strategic cruise missile carriers stationed at air bases were hit.

"Our people operated across several Russian regions - in three different time zones. And the people who assisted us were withdrawn from Russian territory before the operation, they are now safe."

He then once again reiterated his desire for a 'full and unconditional ceasefire' which could 'lead to a lasting and reliable peace'.

Zelenskyy's triumph is obviously a tribulation for his rival Putin, and the Russian leader quickly responded by launching major drone assaults on various parts of Ukraine.

According to reports, this resulted in the deaths of four people in the city of Sumy and three casualties in northeastern Kharkiv, while strikes also rained down on Odessa and Chernihiv.

Putin isn't done there, though - as according to Trump, he's got something even more sinister up his sleeve after being humiliated by the outcome of Operation Spider's Web.

The commander-in-chief explained that he had been on the phone to the Russian president for over an hour while discussing Ukraine's assault and 'other attacks that have been taking place by both sides'.

In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump said: "It was a good conversation, but not a conversation that will lead to immediate Peace.

"President Putin did say, and very strongly, that he will have to respond to the recent attack on the airfields."

Trump told Putin he had not received a heads-up about Operation Spider's Web, the Kremlin said, according to the BBC.

The pair also chatted about Iran, with Trump explaining they both believe 'that time is running out on Iran's decision pertaining to nuclear weapons', as he wants an answer 'quickly'.

"I stated to President Putin that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon and, on this, I believe that we were in agreement," the post continued.

"President Putin suggested that he will participate in the discussions with Iran and that he could, perhaps, be helpful in getting this brought to a rapid conclusion.

"It is my opinion that Iran has been slowwaking their decision on this very important matter, and we will need a definitive answer in a very short period of time!"

It seems that the world leaders are back on better terms this month, as Trump branded Putin 'absolutely crazy' just a few weeks ago and suggested 'something has happened to him'.

The US president's warning comes just days after Germany's chief of defence said that Russia is stockpiling weapons and military equipment for a possible attack on NATO - which could come sooner than we expect.
