Although the Channel 4 show is well known for its intense challenges, some have questioned whether things were taken one step too far.

Contestants were faced with the task of fighting over a tyre in the heat of the Jordanian desert, in what was dubbed as the 'murder ball' game.

Rudy Reyes opted to put the men up against the women with calls for all to be treated equally.

However, viewers were taken aback after artist Pahrnia was sent flying by rival Jamie as he was told to try to win the tyre back.

Pahrnia was left needing paramedic attention and was later declared physically unable to carry on.

Shortly after the clash Rudy told her: "A brain and nervous system injury, or the possibility of one, can be fatal and we have more violence ahead on this course, do you understand?

"It has to be the call, but f***ing great effort, fantastic."

A second added: "Heavens #SASWhoDaresWins I thought you meant to build up a person not break them!"

While a third said: "Not so funny now, eh lads #SASWhoDaresWins."

Rudy later admitted: "I’ll tell you what, we have our American football and we have our MMA and our boxing, I think that murder ball utilising a tyre for the freaking ball may be the most gangster thing, it’s like Braveheart when they smash into each other."

One said: "Such a shame for Pahrnia #SASWhoDaresWins."

A second wrote: "I hope that's not the end of Pahrnia's, journey! She's a right warrior! Potential winner of this year's #SASWhoDaresWins!"

A fourth commented: "Paige so much respect girl, and @pahrnia gutted you were medical discharged, you were my winner. #SASWhoDaresWins."

Someone who claims to know the contestant personally wrote: "Pahrnia is an extremely good friend of mine and I'll tell you what she's just as incredible on the tele as she is in person! That guy did what was asked of him but she shouldn't have gone she would've won! Savage! @pahrnia #SASWhoDaresWins."
