Shocked Viewers Think They've Spotted UFO Flying Through Sky During Jubilee Flypast

While Liz and co smiled up at the skies from London, some people watching along at home found themselves distracted by a bizarre detail

Eagle-eyed social media users are convinced they’ve spotted a UFO flying through the sky during the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations earlier this week. See if you can find it here:

As part of the event programming for the long Platinum Jubilee bank holiday weekend, the RAF orchestrated a spectacular flypast on Thursday morning (2 June), which saw the Queen and other members of the royal family gather on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

But while Liz and co smiled up at the skies from London, some people watching along at home found themselves distracted by a bizarre detail – having spotted what they believed might be, erm, a UFO.

Posting a zoomed in clip from Sky News footage in the UFOs thread on Reddit, one user wrote: “Jubilee UFO zoomed in. Thoughts?”

With 3,300 upvotes and 1,200 comments, it seems they were not alone with their theory.

One shared another similar clip from Big Jet TV, saying: “Saw another angle at 57:21 near the smoke. Not sure if its the same thing.”

The original poster replied: “Yeah I think you got it... For those who don’t see it: Top left. It goes across the screen in a second.”

Another person said: “Just watched the BigJetTV angle again, this goes WAY too fast to be a drone or balloon in the wind. I'm inclined to say this is a genuine UAP [Unidentified Aerial Phenomena]."

Others discussed the speed of the strange object, with one writing: “Where are these things going? They always look like they’re in a hurry.”

Another joked: “For them it’s probably a normal speed.”

The original poster also quipped: “Lol probably trying not to get caught on camera.”

Others, meanwhile, weren’t quite so convinced by the idea, with some saying it was simply a ‘bird’ or a ‘white balloon’ from the festivities.

One said: “Guys. That's just a white balloon caught in the wind currents of the jets.”

Agreeing, someone else commented: “Helicopter filming is flying to the right. Almost static balloon is smaller and a lot closer to the camera that the jets in the background giving the effect it’s travelling super fast.”

A third added: “Yup. I was just going to say the same thing. This exactly matches what a white balloon would look like filmed from a fast moving helicopter.”

A fourth said: “You are 100% correct. Looking at it now and it couldn’t be more obvious. You can see the balloon shape as it bobs side to side, exactly as you’d expect a ballon that’s several hundred feet off the ground to do. Also, there’s hundreds if not thousands of people with balloons on the ground here…”
