Viral £4 hay fever tablet 'cures all symptoms'

The hay fever tablet is available for as little as £4 in UK retailers and has 'cured' symptoms for many people

While many people love the light evenings and warmer weather, there is certainly one particular group that struggles to thrive in the summer months.

Most of us enjoy the summer by going outside and basking in the sunshine with friends and family, but hay fever sufferers do so at a cost.

While they may enjoy the great outdoors, they are often met with constant sneezing, a runny or blocked nose, red or itchy eyes and an itchy throat.

As I'm sure many hay fever suffers are well aware, it is pretty annoying.

Yes, there are hay fever tablets that you can take - but they are very much hit and miss for a lot of folks.

That is until now, anyway - as a viral hay fever tablet that cost just £4 has been labelled as the saviour.

In fact, some users of the tablet have said it 'cures all symptoms' of hay fever, which is pretty remarkable.

The tablets in question are Allevia which retails in pretty much all UK supermarkets.

They have in fact gone viral in recent weeks as several videos have been made by TikTok creators claiming they relieve the symptoms of hay fever.

On the box, the tablets claim to provide relief from symptoms for 24 hours, and were previously only available on prescription.

But in December 2021, they were re-classified to general sales status by the UK’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency - meaning they are now available over the counter in most supermarkets and pharmacies.

The active ingredient in the tablets is fexofenadine hydrochloride, which works by blocking the effects of histamine in the body.

This reduces the symptoms known to all hay fever suffers, with some even saying the tablet eliminates them completely.

Yes, that's right - one TikTok user said her symptoms were 'completely gone' after she took the tablet, after being a longtime hay fever sufferer.

Meanwhile, one person took to Twitter and wrote: "I have gone from having the worst hay fever you will ever see anyone have in your whole life, to feeling like I’ve never had it. Allevia, you have cured me."

However, another Twitter user did not have the same success and said: "Allevia isn’t working this year, do I have to spend summer inside?"

It is definitely worth noting, like all medication, Allevia can bring a bunch of side effects, including headaches, dizziness, nausea and drowsiness.
