And now a motorist has gone viral after explaining just what that little hook on the petrol cover is for.

After '38 years on this Earth', the TikTok user, who is only known as Justin, says, it finally dawned on him that it's just a place to keep the petrol cap while you fill up.
In a video posted to his account, Justin demonstrates how it's used, with the caption: "How did I not know this?"
Speaking over the clip, he says: "38 years on this earth and I just learned this."
Since it was posted, it has been viewed thousands of times, and it seems that Justin wasn't the only one whose mind was utterly blown by it.

Commenting on the post, one user said: "I'll be back in a second, I have to check something."
Another put: "51 years on this earth and I just learned this."

The McDonald's fan revealed that you can now buy pot holders for your takeaway sauces, which fit perfectly into the slots.
The user, who goes under the handle @safwaring, shared the video with the caption: "This is a wise investment."
In the short clip, she can be seen opening her Amazon parcel with the holders inside, clipping them into the fans in her car, and setting off to her local Maccies to test them out.
And they don't let her down, allowing her to dunk her chips at will.

Since posting the video, it has been viewed millions of times, with fellow users praising her for her dedication to the drive-thru.
One person said: "Some people are living in the year 2090."
Another offered: "This is a wise investment."

But some party poopers were quick to point out there could be the potential for a major mishap when out driving.
One user said: "It's all good until you go over a speed bump and that goes everywhere."
