It’s been an incredible year for movies in 2022 and it shows no signs of slowing down. With the highly anticipated follow up to James Cameron’s 2009 blockbuster Avatar: Way of Water hitting the big screen and Virgin Mobile’s new CineGame there are more reasons than ever to head to your local ODEON Cinema this December.

Gone are the age-old days of no phones in cinemas (at least before the trailers start) as Virgin Mobile have teamed up with Odeon cinemas to launch a brand-new gaming experience for the big screen with instant prizes to be won at every movie screening.

We all know the feeling. You’ve picked up your perfectly buttered popcorn, grabbed the ultimate treat selection of Maltesers, Minstrels and M&Ms and your ice-cold drink is chilling beside you. You’ve got the best seat in the house and are eagerly awaiting the show before boredom strikes. That’s where CineGame comes in.

CineGame is the first of its kind in Ireland and is basically an interactive game played on the cinema screen via your phone, granting you the chance to win some instant prizes. With sweet treats to win, the top scorer from each game will instantly earn a prize voucher code on their app that they can redeem at any Odeon Counter. The best part? You play against everyone in the cinema audience - friends and foe alike.

So how does it work? Keep an eye out for the CineGame posters and pop ups in your local Odeon. Scan the code to be taken to the App Store of Play Store and download the Virgin Mobile CineGame app. Creating a profile takes two minutes - then once you’re set up, keep an eye on the cinema screen for your unique game code. Pop this into the app and your phone will act as your controller as you play the game live on the big screen.

Sounds pretty good right? Well it gets even better. We’ve teamed up with Virgin Mobile to give our audience the chance to win the grand prize – a brand new Samsung Galaxy S22 and Cinema Tickets. Just head to our Instagram and leave a comment on the competition post. We will randomly select a winner from the comments to take home the prize. Simple!

So, what are we going to go see first? Click here to download CineGame on the App Store or the PlayStore.
