While most of us are taking sensible precautions during the ongoing coronavirus crisis, others are taking a less common-sense approach. Such as this person who was spotted in Asda stocking up on Coca-Cola while wearing a Stormtrooper helmet.

Mark Mattocks saw the bizarre shopper while out shopping in Sittingbourne, Kent, earlier this week.

The 35-year-old told the Sun: "I was strolling past the aisle with my girlfriend and we were both chatting about how empty the shelves were.

"We both glanced along and carried on walking then froze and both said 'did you just see that?'

"I was totally stunned at how casually this lady was shopping with that on her head. It looked like she was stockpiling bottles of Coke."

Our Star Wars fan here isn't the first person to adopt more, shall we say unusual, measures during the outbreak.

Yesterday, in Spain, where there is a complete lock down with citizens told to remain in their homes, leaving only to purchase essentials, such as food and medical supplies, police saw a person dressed as a dinosaur walking the streets.

Sharing the encounter on Twitter, a spokesperson for the police force said: "In alarm, pets are allowed to walk accompanied by a person, always with short walks to relieve themselves. Having a Tyrannosaurus Rex complex is not covered."

In the clip the person in the costume was approached by an officer while out and about in Murcia, in southeastern Spain. Understandably given the ongoing situation, the dinosaur-costumer-wearer was given a telling off by police.

Earlier this year, travellers were photographed in airports covering their heads with plastic bags, bottles and motorbike helmets.

In one of the snap, shared on Twitter, an entire family of four were seen wearing plastic bags over their bodies - resembling goldfish at a funfair and risking suffocation.
