A woman spotted 'frozen' in the street has people convinced we've 'slipped into a different dimension'.

The bizarre video has been making its rounds online and, let's just say, it's attracted a whole bunch of weird and wonderful theories desperately seeking to make sense out of the situation.

The TikTok was captioned: "NPC caught lacking."

In case you're unfamiliar with the term, an 'NPC' is an abbreviated term for a a non-player character or a non-playable character in a video game.

In short, an NPC is a character in a computer game that is not controlled by someone playing the game.

The term has since become internet slang to reference the sometimes robotic behaviour of a person with no ability to think for themselves - a sheeple.

The video starts by zooming into a woman across the street who can be seen standing totally still for a few seconds, mid-stride, before finally breaking the pose and continuing her walk as if no time had passed at all.

The overlay text on the TikTok read: "She was like that for a minute before."

A man behind the camera can be heard saying: "Why's she frozen? Bruv, I'm tripping."

He aptly concludes: "What the f***."

The six-second-long clip has since gone viral after amassing 1.6 million views in the two days since it was first posted on the platform.

Nearly two thousands people have since flocked to the comments to share their reaction to the footage.

One TikTok user wrote: "This is filed into my private playlist titled: 'Concerning'."

A second commented: "Sometimes I think we've slipped into a different dimension."

The video has since clocked up over 1.6 million views in just 48 hours.

"Let’s just all agree we witnessed a uncanny valley moment," penned a third.

"Nah this is scary," admitted another.

Others, however, found the whole thing quite frankly hilarious.

One quipped: "She was checking her inventory."

"She disconnected for a sec," joked a second while a third echoed: "Her wifi was bad."

"Nah even the hair was frozen," wrote a fourth accompanied with a crying laughing emoji.

Another added: "The NPC servers need maintenance again."

Some even went as far to come up with their own alternative theories to explain the odd clip.

One claimed: "She entered a portal to another dimension."

Another offered a slightly alternative explanation: "Y'all she probably just had to go to the bathroom and it was a do or die moment to keep it in."

"She holding in a fart," confidently declared a final TikTok user.

Yikes.

What do you make of it?
