A British tourist has been captured on film biting the hand of a Moroccan chicken seller during a bizarre and foul-mouthed rant in which she tried to free the caged bird.
The unidentified tourist tried to liberate the chicken from the cage and called the locals 'illiterate' as she pushed and shoved people around at the market in Tangier.
Social media users in the North African country have criticised the woman's behaviour and accused her of trying to force her culture onto them in their own country.
Following the long and protracted scuffle the woman was eventually given over to the police who, instead of arresting her, took her to hospital to be treated for 'hysteria'.
The footage, which has been viewed more than 425,000 times since it was uploaded by a bystander, shows the woman lashing out at traders and merchants at the market.
Whilst jabbing her finger about violently, the woman - who has a southern accent - can be heard to say: "Are you all that uneducated? You can't read, you can't read can you? You can't f****** read. Are you that f****** thick, you dumb c***?"
She also then turned her attention to the person filming the whole scenario as it unfolds and calls him some more rude names. Then she stuck her finger up at the camera.
Then, the situation escalated further. She dived on top of the locked crate that was holding the chickens and tried to break it open. When the merchant refused to let her do that, she started to gnaw away at his hand and screamed for him to "get off!".
Then, in other footage, she can be seen shouting: "You don't treat animals like that!"
She also threw punches and shoved members of the public that were trying to calm her down.
Eventually, the police arrived and took her off to the hospital. It is thought that the chicken seller decided that he didn't want to press charges against her.
As mentioned earlier, the woman has been heavily criticised by Moroccans on Twitter for her perceived disrespect for their culture.
One person wrote: "Go push your cultural beliefs in your own country, stay away if you don't like it."
Another offered: "Even if they let her free the chickens, what does she think will happen? They'll just roam freely in the city?"
A third said: "On behalf of the sane British public, I apologise for this simply atrocious behaviour."
Well, it is a bit strange, isn't it?
