A woman who proudly showed off her second-hand bargain sofa on TikTok was soon informed that it could have a very dodgy past. Check out the clip here:

Mallory, who regularly shares her bargain finds on TikTok under the name @malloryonthemoon, bought a huge circular sofa from Facebook Marketplace.

Mallory said she was in the market for a ‘funky’ piece of furniture to help kit out her new place and she particularly liked the way the couch has sections that can be pulled out and moved around.

And not only that, but she was able to snap up the couch for $700 (£570, an absolute bargain when you consider that they sell for almost $4,000 (£3,250) online.

She was very pleased with her Facebook Marketplace bargain.

Quick to show off her latest bargain, Mallory posted a clip of the huge couch online, but it wasn’t long before several of her followers began to make suggestions about the sofa’s previous owner.

Several people claimed it was a ‘swingers couch’ with some even saying they’d seen such an item in situ at a swinger's place.

Responding to her original video one person said: “Swingers really do have the best taste in furniture.”

Another wrote: “Can I just say I’ve definitely seen this couch before and I’m begging you to get it cleaned.”

A third person commented: “I seen these at a swingers club and man they were not clothed on it!”

Another said: “The moment I saw this I thought of Austin Powers’ swinger couch. But girrrrrl, you found gold! Only $700!?”

A fellow TikTok user added: “Just from looking at the couch I already knew this was a swingers couch and thought she needs to get this cleaned before seeing the comments.”

Fortunately she saw the funny side.

Fortunately, Mallory has seen the funny side and has even shared an updated video in which she addresses her ‘swingers couch’.

Sharing the clip, she said: "When you buy a couch on Facebook Marketplace and TikTok lets you know it was once a swingers' couch."

And in later clips she’s shared the couch still appears to have pride of her place in her home, so I think she’s willing to overlook the fact it could have a slightly dubious past.

Oh and in case you’re wondering, she also confirmed that she did – of course – clean it before using it, so that’s good.
