Woman loses her license after causing a car crash while giving the driver a blow job

Lela Jane Josephs wasn't the one driving the car, but she was charged with dangerous driving for the act.

A woman has lost her license after she caused a car to crash while she was giving a blow job to the driver.

Otago Daily Times reported that Lela Jane Josephs appeared in Whanganui District Court in New Zealand yesterday (Thursday, October 13) before Judge Andrew Nicholls on charges of dangerous driving and perverting the course of justice.

While Joesphs wasn’t actually driving the car, the 34-year-old woman was still charged with dangerous driving due to performing the sex act in the lead up to the crash.

Judge Nicholls told Josephs that the lead charge was perverting the course of justice, which carries a minimum sentence of seven years in prison.

According to the outlet, the judge told Josephs: "You contributed to him losing control of the car and crashing through a farm fence."

Joesphs admitted to the two charges. Separate charges including driving while disqualified and drink driving were dismissed.

The woman was charged after cops showed up at Kauangaroa Rd, Fordell, just before midnight on 27 June 2021, following the crash, with Josephs in the passenger’s seat and Andre Teka driving the vehicle.

However, shortly after the accident, Teka fled the scene, and residents contacted the police about Josephs, who was intoxicated while asking for help in an ‘abusive manner’.

As police found Josephs, they instructed her to take a breathalyser and found that she had consumed 786 micrograms of alcohol per litre of breath, the legal limit being 250mcg.

The woman then gave authorities a false name and informed them that she was not the one driving.

While appearing in court the following month, Joseph pleaded not guilty as her lawyer contacted police to notify them that Teka was actually behind the wheel, which the man later admitted in court.

Judge Nicholls ultimately sentenced Josephs to three and a half months in prison.

However, the judge commuted the sentence to 40 hours of community work and 12 months of intensive supervision.

Additionally, Josephs lost her license and was fined NZ $750 (AUD $670 or £379) and was ordered to pay NZ $162.50 (AUD $145 or £81.9) for damaging the fence.

Hopefully, next time Josephs will keep her sex life strictly in the bedroom, much less a moving vehicle.
