Woman hands over her baby to get involved in a huge supermarket brawl

Woman hands over her baby to get involved in a huge supermarket brawl

People couldn't believe their eyes when the footage was posted on social media.

A huge brawl has erupted in a supermarket in Australia and the vision is absolutely bizarre.

Footage shows two women fighting each other in Tamworth Woolworths as shocked shoppers watched on.

Things escalated when two men joined the melee.

Everyone else, at this point, is yelling at the group to stop fighting and to chill out.

However, they raged on.

News Corp reports around 10 people got involved in the brawl, but not before the unthinkable happened.

A woman with a baby handed over the child to a nearby man and then she joined the fracas.

Bottles of Sprite were going everywhere as the brawlers moved down one shopping aisle.

Eventually things calmed down and there are loads of shoppers who were around the fighters.

New South Wales Police issued a statement to 2GB Radio.

It said: "About 5pm (Thursday 1 June 2023), police were called to a supermarket on Peel Street, Tamworth, following reports of a fight.

"Officers attached to Oxley Police District were told a group of people became involved in a verbal argument before a physical altercation ensued.

"As investigations continue, anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000."

People couldn't believe their eyes when the footage of the fight was posted onto social media.

Many were particularly shocked that a woman would hand over her child to get involved.

One user said: "Instead of hold my bag its hold my baby."

Another added: "Omg, I can’t believe society has come to this grocery stores aren’t boxing rings."

A third wrote: "What happened to females being 'ladies', seems getting into brawls is the new norm for the young females of today....as for her child....darn I hope that baby is watched VERY CLOSELY."

Many thought it was reminiscent of when the Covid-19 pandemic was in full force and people were brawling at the supermarket over rolls of toilet paper.

One of these fights erupted in a Woolworths in Chullora, west Sydney, back in 2020.

In a clip filmed by an onlooker, three women could be heard screaming and shouting at each other before a staff member got involved.

It appeared as though one woman took a packet of toilet rolls from the other two women, prompting a fight to break out.

One woman can be heard saying: "I just want one pack."

However, the second woman, who appears to have a full trolley of toilet rolls, responded: "No, not one pack."
