Woman asked her friends to help her deep clean her house instead of a baby shower

This is nothing short of a stroke of genius.

One mother to be has asked for her inner circle to deep clean her house instead of hosting a baby shower.

This is nothing short of a stroke of genius.

One woman known as Nia Mullet posted a TikTok video that has now gone viral, revealing that instead of hosting a wholesome baby shower, she threw a ‘nesting party’.

“So I had my nesting party last night instead of a baby shower and it was amazing,” she explains in the video.

“My friend Bree organised it.

“I sent her a list of things that I wanted to get done before the baby came and she made little cards for each person to take on a section of the house.”

The video shows the women gathered as they rearrange her pantry and clean her kitchen drawers while cleaning window sills.

The nesting party doesn’t include any presents, games or baby-themed decorations.

Instead, the ladies grabbed some feather dusters, brooms and disinfection to welcome their friend’s bundle of joy.

Give me a shiraz, and I’d be happy to clean!

“I kind of took a more supervised role, kind of telling people where I wanted things and then we took a dinner break,” she continues.

“We ate some soup, some sourdough breads, some treats, and chatted about this baby and how it's gonna be.

“Then we got straight back into work and everything was so clean and organised and I feel so much more ready for this baby.”

Nia adds that everyone bought freezer meals in case she needs to be stocked up if experiencing postpartum depression.

“It was so much fun. I highly recommend a nesting party if you’re getting ready for a baby,” she concludes.

Many users loved the idea of ditching a baby shower.

One TikTok user wrote: 'Honestly, I’d prefer doing this than sitting and watching someone open presents for three hours."

Another said: “I refuse to go to a baby shower, but I would show up early for a nesting party.”

A third shared: “Can I have this instead of a birthday party.”

While another commented: “This is a true village, and I love everything about it.”
