A dental nurse has taken out the 'world's first' ever makeup-free beauty pageant.

There are plenty of pageants where competitors have to go through a round and they can't wear any cosmetics on their face.

However, this particular event, Miss London 2023, was filled with nearly two dozen women who were makeup-free for the whole thing.

They all strutted their stuff down the catwalk and tried to impress the judges with their bare face and ethically-sourced outfits.

It was the first time in the Miss England pageant's 95-year history that there was a heat filled with makeup-free models.

Organisers say this is a first for Britain and probably the world.

They hoped the makeup-free heat would 'empower women, boost confidence and promote a more realistic body image as it focuses on natural looks'.

Natasha Beresford, 26, was the one who eventually walked away with the crown.

She started work as a dental nurse at the Royal London Dental Hospital in 2021 and has now moved onto a private dental practice in Chiswick.

"I find my job really rewarding, over the years I have worked in the NHS, as well as private and urgent care dental practices," she said.

"For the future, I would like to do further training in dental radiography and oral health education.

"I also plan on volunteering with Dentaid for their UK outreach dental clinics, where they provide dental care and oral health advice for people experiencing homelessness, survivors of abuse, families in poverty, refugees, cancer patients and people recovering from addiction."

She will no go onto compete in the Miss England final, which will take place later this year.

Natasha will be joined by runners up Afrose Ameen, 23, from Lewisham, Temi Adeyemi, 26 from Enfield, Middlesex, and 17-year-old Alanta Richards, of Surrey.

The public vote winner was Lauren Malone 26, a company founder and CEO, who will join the other four women in the Miss England final.
