Brigitte Macron's daughter, 42, goes official with student 20 years younger than her

It seems that the apple really doesn't fall far from the tree when it comes to France's First Lady Brigitte Macron and her daughter.

Just like her mother, Tiphaine Auzière has found herself a younger fella - in the form of a 22-year-old kitesurfer who is currently enrolled in business school.

The pair debuted their relationship in a post shared to social media on Sunday (30 August), which documented their recent romantic getaway to Amsterdam.

While hard-launching their relationship online, Tiphaine and her new beau Antoine Lecomte shared a short clip documenting the 48-hours that they spent together in the capital of the Netherlands.

The couple, who have two decades between them, looked ridiculously loved up on their road trip to the city, where they enjoyed some sightseeing and exploring.

Antoine also included a sweet selfie of the pair in the Instagram post that confirmed they are an item.

He currently attends the NEOMA Business School in France, while he is also the founder of the watersports brand Mission Kiteboarding - and apparently, his passions are what made Tiphaine fall for him.

According to reports, the duo met during the summer in Le Touquet, a seaside resort town in the north of the country, while Antoine was working as a kitesurfing instructor.

The lad apparently managed to impress the lawyer when showing her how an eFoil - which is a electric hydrofoil surfboard - works.

Tiphaine, who is the stepdaughter of French president Emmanuel Macron, has a 'lot in common' with her new toyboy, a pal told Gala.

"It was immediately obvious between them," the friend told the publication of Tiphaine and Antoine's blossoming romance. "They have a lot in common: a love of Le Touquet and thrills, but also travel and entrepreneurship."

Discussing Brigitte's reaction to the news, the source continued: "She reacted just like any mother would. All that matters to her is her daughter’s happiness, so she’s very happy to see her thriving.

"She’ll be delighted to meet Antoine."

Tiphaine, a mother-of-two, was previously in a relationship with French radio presenter and TV star Cyril Hanouna before they split in May this year.

She broke up with her partner of 15-years and father of her children, gastroenterologist Antoine Choteau, early last year.

The phrase 'like mother, like daughter' really rings true with these two, as Tiphaine's latest relationship has a lot of similar hallmarks to the one her mother Brigitte has with the French leader.

The pair first met when Emmanuel was just 15-years-old and a pupil at La Providence High School in Amiens - which is where his future wife worked.

Speaking to Paris Match back in 2016, Brigitte revealed: "At the age of 17, Emmanuel said to me 'whatever you do, I will marry you'."

According to the 2018 documentary Brigitte Macron: A French Novel, Macron’s parents told Brigitte to stop seeing him until he turned 18 and sent the future president off to Paris to finish his schooling, but the pair kept in touch.

In his book and political manifesto, Revolution, Emmanuel said their relationship began as 'a love often clandestine, often hidden, misunderstood by many before imposing itself.'

Brigitte divorced her first husband in 2006, marrying Emmanuel months later. She was 54, while he was 29.

Emmanuel has previously slammed critics who have criticised their age gap, saying: "If I was 20 years older than my wife, nobody would think for a single second that we couldn't be legitimately together.

"It's because she is 20 years older than me that a lot of people say, 'This relationship can't be tenable, it can't be possible'."
