For the well travelled among us, staying informed on the latest travel advisories from the UK and the US are an absolute must for keeping safe when visiting different countries.

But while the advisories are simply put in place to give tourists a clear idea on the level of risk involved in travelling to certain destinations, they can cause a lot of worry for anyone planning to visit these places, especially if they're part of a planned cruise route.

The US State Department has recently put a number of travel advisories on several countries, including popular holiday destinations Morocco and the Bahamas, which could impact anyone planning a trip.

Luckily, Carnival Cruise Line has stepped in to address any concerns holidaymakers may have, particularly those travelling by cruise, while issuing important guidance for anyone set to travel to any of the countries that fall under the advisory.

Brand ambassador John Heald took to Facebook, where he reassured passengers that cruise ships will always work closely with government agencies to determine the safety of the destination before travelling to that area.

"Occasionally, you will see that the United States government issues these travel advisories, and they are very, very important," Heald said, addressing his 600k followers.

"We will always take you to places where we have done due diligence."

He went on to say that if the advice from the government agencies were ever to advise against travel, they would always follow that advice.

"We would never put your safety in jeopardy," he added.

However, the former cruise director did issue some guidance of his own, which he urged tourists to take seriously.

"In some of the places we go to, to please only take an excursion through the ship and stay in the tourist areas," Heald warned. "It's pretty basic advice - advice I used to give as a cruise director as well in a lot of the places we went to, and it's still the same case today."

He continued: "So please, please, remember those very, very important words. Stay safe, have fun, and remember to listen to the advice of the captain and the cruise director in some of the places that we go to - very important."
