A chilling video from inside the plane which was seen in flames as it made an emergency landing, has surfaced online.
While footage from the ground was terrifying enough to send shivers down the spine of thousands on social media, a video from one of the passengers onboard the plane has now started to circulate.
Flames could be seen coming from near the Boeing 757's engine, as those looking out the window would have been treated to the nastiest shock of their lives.
You'd be forgiven if you were onboard the flight, that you thought you were headed for your impending doom, which is exactly why many messaged their loved ones 'goodbye' upon spotting the flames, which began shortly after takeoff.
Taking off from the Greek island of Corfu, the Condor Airlines flight was set to travel to Düsseldorf in Germany, the incident forced the pilots to divert to the city on Brindisi.
The orange glow from the flames shone through the windows (X) All occurring about 36,000ft in the air, it's a sight that reminiscent of film series Final Destination, as those on the ground could also see the flame.
The video isn't crystal clear, as it was filmed on another passenger's film, but as we can hear someone chuckling in the background, it's almost as if they feel lucky to be alive after what happened.
It was reported that when it reached the aforementioned altitude, there was a disruption to the turbine airflow, reports German media outlet WDR.
As witnesses claimed the plane was 'fighting fire' and some said they 'already sent goodbye texts', the airline said in a statement to LADbible that it 'posed no danger to the guests or crew members'.
A Condor Airlines spokesperson stated: “Flight DE3665 from Corfu (CFU) to Dusseldorf (DUS) diverted to Brindisi (BDS) on 16 August 2025.
“The reason was a parameter indication outside the normal range caused by a disturbance in the air flow supply to the engine. Due to the fault message, it was precautionarily decided to divert to Brindisi."
They continued: “This posed no danger to the guests or crew members at any time. The aircraft landed around 8:15 p.m. at Brindisi Airport, and all 273 guests as well as the eight crew members disembarked the aircraft normally.
"Another Condor aircraft was dispatched to carry all guests to Dusseldorf on August 17th, 2025."
Passengers and on-lookers were horrified (X) The statement continued: “Unfortunately, there was insufficient hotel capacity in Brindisi, meaning that not all guests could be accommodated in hotels.
"Additional vouchers and blankets were organised at the airport, and a few shops were allowed to remain open to provide supplies. Passengers who took advantage of alternative accommodation options can submit their expenses for reimbursement.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused, but the safety of our passengers and employees is always our top priority."
One onlooker also recalled seeing the aircraft on TikTok: "We heard a bunch of explosions and it was really scary, and we were on the balcony, and we saw the whole thing."
