People are flooding to social media in shock over 'heartbreaking' footage revealing the extent of the damage caused by the wildfires in Greece.

Wildfires have swept across the Greek islands of Corfu and Rhodes, with Crete having been placed on 'Red alert' as next to see blazes sweep through it.

Five-star hotel Lindos Imperial Resort and Spa - located on Kiotari Beach in Rhodes - well and truly felt the flames of the fire, with a video revealing the terrifying impact of the hotel being ravaged by the blaze.

The video - posted by TikTok user @k_urdo4 - shows the hotel and spa 'before and after the forest fire'.

The first clip shows families and other hotel guests sunbathing by the swimming pool, children happily splashing around.

The second clip is a stark contrast - with the pool area reduced to ashes, umbrellas reduced to stubs of metal discarded on the floor and not a holidaymaker to be seen.

The 'after' clip is 'heartbreaking'.
