Yung Filly testifies at rape trial and explains why his team took alleged victim's phone

Yung Filly, real name Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, is currently on trial in Australia as he faces allegations he raped and assaulted a fan.
The British YouTuber denies all 10 charges against him and today (27 July) testified in his defence.
The woman, who had recently turned 20 at the time, alleges that the 30-year-old raped her multiple times when she went back to his hotel room in Perth following a gig in a nightclub in September 2024.

Taking to the stand, Barrientos claimed the ‘vibes were good’ when they got there and explained that his security guard had taken the fan’s phone off her.
She alleged that she had consensual sex with the rapper before things became violent and she told him to stop.
In court, he said he ‘fancied’ her when she approached him at the venue by leaning over the VIP barrier from the dance floor.
She then apparently got access to the VIP area and the pair began chatting. He denied that he’d put his hands down her pants and touched her breast here but recalled ‘putting my hand on her waist’.
When they arrived at the hotel, Barrientos said ‘vibes were good’ but agreed her phone was taken from her, as she alleged.
“It is standard practice for someone in the limelight to protect privacy,” the YouTube star told the court.
The court had earlier been shown images of the woman with bruising across her face, neck and breasts. Forensic dentist John Marsell said some of it was likely caused by biting.
Barrientos claimed during sex he had given ‘love bites’ to her neck, breasts and face.
“My mouth on her skin while sucking. My teeth were involved to some extent,” he said.
He also claimed that she didn’t speak during the encounter but that she was ‘grunting and moaning in a good way’ and allegedly didn’t say she wasn’t comfortable.
"It was amazing, I was enjoying it," he said. "She was enjoying it too."
Barrientos claimed that afterwards her demeanour had been ‘good’ and they were ‘chatting’ on the bed.
“She was enjoying my presence,” he added.
Prosecutor Danielle Clarke alleged in court last week that after consensual sex, Barrientos became violent and started biting and slapping the woman before raping her multiple times.
“What should have been an exciting night out meeting her celebrity crush Yung Filly was fun until it wasn’t,” she said.
It’s alleged that the woman believed she was being taken to an after-party when they first left the hotel.
Clarke alleged that Barrientos told her to say ‘I’m Filly’s dirty whore’ during the incident but she refused. Later, when she was getting ready to leave the hotel room, one of the rapper’s minders came in and the alleged victim allegedly heard him say that she was ‘not good in bed’.
Barrientos has pleaded not guilty to six counts of sexually penetrating the woman without consent as well as impeding her breathing by applying pressure to her neck and three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm.
