Dana White Offers McGregor And Mayweather Megabucks To Fight

Don't get too excited, but I'm calling it: Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather could actually be going to happen guys.

Tonight UFC president Dana White appeared on "The Herd" with Colin Cowherd on FS1 where made an offer to Mayweather and McGregor to put the fight together on PPV.

Mayweather has previously claimed to have offered McGregor $15 million to fight him, however White says that offer was never actually made, but the huge sum he states in the video is legit.

"I'll tell you what Floyd, here's a real offer and I'm the guy, I'm the guy that can actually make the offer and I'm actually making a real offer. We pay you $25 million, we'll pay Conor $25 million and then we'll talk about pay-per-view at a certain number. There's a real offer," White revealed.

Wowza, what do you think, should they accept?

This all follows on from yesterday when, appearing as a guest on ESPN's First Take, Floyd Mayweather called out UFC champion McGregor and Dana White to get a deal done for a one-on-one with The Notorious.

Mayweather, 39, retired unbeaten in 2015 and admitted a bout with the 28-year-old Irishman - who recently obtained a boxing licence - is the only thing that could tempt him back into the ring.

"Only thing I'm probably interested in is the Conor McGregor fight," Mayweather said. "I'm a businessman, and it makes business sense. I believe in what me and [adviser] Al Haymon talk about every day - I believe in working smarter, not harder."

McGregor became the UFC's first dual-division champion in November and has previously challenged Mayweather to an MMA fight. However, last year the Irishman had a boxing licence granted by the California State Athletic Commission.

Mayweather also discussed the figure that would need to be stumped up for him to step back into the ring.

"We tried to make the Conor McGregor fight," Mayweather said. "They know what my number is. My number is a guaranteed $100million (£81m). That was my number.

"We are willing to give him $15million (£9.7m) and then we can talk about splitting the percentage - the back end - on the pay-per-view. But of course, we're the 'A side'. How can a guy talk about making 20 or 30 million if he has never made 8 million or 9 million in a fight?"

It had looked that there could still be numerous stumbling blocks to making the long-awaited fight happen, as McGregor is under is contract with the UFC, any potential fight against Mayweather would have to involve a co-promotion or the UFC's blessing. That obstacle now looks to be well and truly overcome.
