Drug dealers are using the World Cup to offer promotional discounts

UK drug dealers are sending their customers 'World Cup discount' texts and - disclaimer- they aren't holding back on the marketing.

Amid, arguably, the most controversial World Cup ever, drug dealers have sensed an opportunity to market their illegal class A drugs in some pretty innovative ways.

In Qatar there is zero tolerance for drug-related offences and punishments are severe.

Punishment can include lengthy custodial sentences, heavy fines and deportation, the UK Government has warned.

So for those UK drug dealers who won't take the risk by travelling to Qatar, they have opted to try their luck with the fans at home.

UK drug dealers are sending their customers 'World Cup discount' texts and they've gone viral on social media.

One text from an alleged dealer, reads: "About all day tomorrow what better way to numb the pain of the inevitable harry maguire mistake than some of the best haze and dog in mer its coming home make sure you are with a bag of cali in your pocket like gareth bale in trippiers."

A more graphic text message from a different dealer also reads: "YOU'VE GOT TO ORDER OFF THE MENU FIRST.

"FREE entry to competition when you make a order for a goody bag.

"You've got to guess the minute of Englands next goal! to win a goody bag full of party stuff.

"GOOD LUCK ITS COMING HOME.

"Flake 50s or 2 for 80. Ket 30s or 3 for 50. Mama 30s or 2 for 50. Md pills 10 each. 2cbs 10 Each. Freebies on big orders! Pass the number on please!"

Another message reads: "Grain is there baby - it's World Cup season - 3 lions on the shirt - why not 3 for £90 - you got the sterling? I've got the Kane - football is coming home but on this fuel you won't be!"

The curator of Shotta Texts, an online collection of funny drug dealer texts, told the publication: "We see dealers taking advantage of big events in real time by incorporating it into their text messages advertising their stock and prices.

"From New Years to Valentine’s, summer heatwaves and now the World Cup. Whether it works is a mystery, but they always find their way to Shotta Texts for us to laugh at."

As one might expect, Twitter were having a field day with the DMs.

One person commented: "Anyone got his number.. asking for a friend."

Another quipped: "3 for £90? Bash-tian Schweinsteiger."

A third person joked: "3 lines on the shirt. Missed an open goal there fella."

Others joined in on the fun with: "Can I get a Saka White please?" and "Bashley Cole."
