Man City players forced to take tram as parade finally gets underway despite thunderstorm

People are flooding to social media in stitches over Manchester City players taking to the tram to get to the treble parade.

People are flooding to social media in stitches over Manchester City players taking to the tram to get to the treble parade.

Manchester City's victory parade may have been delayed, because of the typical British weather conditions which have been battering most of the UK, but Jack Grealish and the rest of the team didn't dilly-dally about.

The winger and the rest of Man City may not have pulled up to the parade in style, but they definitely did it in the most Manchester way possible.

Man City's website updated fans the parade would be pushed back to 7:00pm in a statement to its website.

It said: "Due to reports of adverse weather conditions and localised lightning storms, which are expected to reach Manchester city centre shortly, the start of the trophy parade will be delayed until 19:00 (UK).

"This decision has been taken in the interests of safety by Manchester City Council in conjunction with the Club and other local stakeholders, who have consulted with meteorologists and the Met Office.

"Gates for the stage show on Oxford Street will now open at 18:30. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation."

But no lightning or thunder - or even a potentially stinky kit for Grealish - was getting in the way of Man City players making it to their open-top bus to continue their celebrations.

After the teams' success in not only the FA Cup, Premier League and most recently, their win at the Champions League final, a bit of rain proved no match for them either.

Taking to Manchester's tram lines alongside fans, Grealish was caught on camera hopping onboard - alongside football stars such as Phil Foden, Aymeric Laporte, Erling Haaland and John Stones - his shirt slung around his neck, greeting passengers as he went, throwing his hands in the air victoriously.

Fans of the winger have flooded to social media as quick as the rain poured down on Manchester, loving seeing the team take to the trams.

One Twitter user said: "Never change, @JackGrealish!"

"The proper way to celebrate the treble. A non-stop bender. You can sleep tomorrow anyways," another wrote.

A third commented: "Grealish is worth 100 million just for the morale he brings to the team. I think the celebrations would be dead without him hahahaha everyone is so chill."

And a fourth added: "Love this guy so much."
