Martyn Ford 'Embarrassed' By 'Iranian Hulk' Training Video

The pair are due to go head-to-head in April, but Ford isn't sure what his opponent is playing at

Martyn Ford has said he's 'genuinely embarrassed' by a recent training video shared by his upcoming boxing opponent, the so-called 'Iranian Hulk'. Watch the training video here:

Ford - often referred to as the 'world's scariest man' - will be taking on Sajad Gharibi, aka the Iranian Hulk, on 2 April at the O2 in London. However, 39-year-old Ford isn't sure what his opponent is playing at.

Gharibi has been sharing all kinds of bizarre training videos on his Instagram, in which he punches walls, rips apart melons and jostles with a group of guys, like in the video above.

All of this has led Ford to believe he will comfortably conquer in the battle of the muscle men - provided his adversary isn't pulling off some 'absolute genius' rope-a-dope.

Asked about the aforementioned training video, Ford told Mirror Fighting: "I was embarrassed, genuinely embarrassed.

"People ask me if this is a real fight or if this is some kind of WWE fight. And yes of course it is 100 percent this is going off.

"He is either an absolute genius and is putting this content out to fool me that he is that bad. Or he was conceived too close to a nuclear experiment and his head isn’t right.

"Because there is something about that video and all of them I can’t grasp what he is doing. The contract's signed and the fights are real and he is putting out the content like that."

Whatever Gharibi's game is, Ford said he is 'training to take heads off' and is going into the fight determined to settle a beef that's been rumbling on for a few years now.

He said: "I just want to smash his head in. It won’t give me any sense of achievement or pride to win, because I genuinely don't think he will bring anything to the table that will allow me to be proud of myself.

"You can't feel good about beating someone up that is useless. For me this is about settling some nonsense that has gone backwards and forwards for two or three years.

"The stuff that has been said from him and his camp and his fans, so I have just got to the point where I want to fight. I am not someone who takes trolling to heart, but there is a point where he has just gone to things that are disgusting and rude.

"If you want to step in to the ring, I'll step up and I have never been afraid of confrontation."
