Facebook Are Changing Their 'Reaction' Buttons For Halloween

Use them while you can.

Halloween is pretty much here, and people across the globe will be going out tomorrow evening (and Saturday, maybe Sunday and definitely Monday) wearing a costume and getting absolutely smashed. It's a holiday we can all get behind.

Facebook have decided to get into the spirit of things and changed their 'reaction' buttons to reflect Goth Christmas.

However, as you can see from the picture above - they've done a pretty half-arsed job of it. I'm sure it took a lot of time and there must be some reason but... why haven't the 'like' and 'love' buttons changed? Could they have not done a severed thumb and a heart-shaped lollipop? What's going on here?

Hopefully it'll be sorted by Halloween.

In an announcement, they said: "We're also launching a set of limited-edition reactions to people in a select set of countries in the days leading up to and through Halloween. From a cackling witch to express laughter, to a grimacing jack o'lantern to show anger, you'll be sure to get into the holiday spirit with these fun and playful reactions.

"To use the Halloween reactions, hold down the Like button on mobile or hover over the Like button on desktop to see the reaction image options, then choose from the skeletal thumbs up (Like), the candy heart (Love), the laughing witch (Haha), the ghost (Wow), Frankenstein (Sad), or the scowling pumpkin (Angry)."

They're also adding 'masks' to Facebook Live, which looks very similar to Snapchat filters.

They wrote: "Masks will be rolling out over the next few days for people using Facebook Live on iOS in the US, UK and New Zealand. In the coming months, we will make masks available to people sharing live video via Android devices and in more countries."

Happy Halloween, lads.
