A man who boarded the world's first HYROX cruise has lifted the lid on what the experience was really like as he documented his a full day on board the ship.
HYROX declared they had unlocked 'the evolution of fitness travel' by holding their famous athletic event on board a ship.
But to some, the experience was deemed 'a nightmare', with videos posted online showing passengers running at 6am and facing multiple workouts on a boat trip that many claim should be a relaxing holiday.
The fitness route is an 8km run broken up into eight segments, including various body workouts at different stations.

Now, health-conscious fitness buffs were able to board the inaugural cruise which took place from 21 to 25 October 2026, transforming into a floating fitness festival in the Mediterranean.

The reality of a day on-board
Among those was Stan Browney, a Dutch fitness content creator who has become one of the most-followed fitness-entertainers on YouTube.
He shared a TikTok video documenting his day on the cruise, which included early-morning classes during sunrise, more 'intense' workouts throughout the day and parties on board, followed by appointments with a physio.
"I woke up at 6:45 for my morning workout class and I enjoyed a beautiful sunrise while getting completely destroyed by this one hour workout," he explained.
"After a quick shower it was time for breakfast at this massive buffet and I definitely ate too much. Then I even visited a physiotherapist and I got a sports massage and more recovery in the outdoor jacuzzi."
He went on to describe eating 'everything' at the buffet in order to build up enough strength for another workout, showing videos of him completing another session.
"At this point I was basically dying. The workouts here were crazy intense, but I'm loving it," he continued.
"Then there was a class on board on supplements and of course they use the highest quality supplements.
"Dinner was a bit more fancy. I had a five course meal in one of the restaurants on board.

"After dinner there was a party and I partied hard with this Coke Zero. And then it was time to go to bed."
The cruise advertised itself as 'the most immersive HYROX training and lifestyle experience we have ever built', with four days at sea offering training with elite athletes.
"The HYROX Cruise brings together high-level training, expert guidance and the energy of the global HYROX community in an environment you cannot find anywhere else," the website stated.
Exercise experiences on board the ship were scheduled from 6am through to 8pm so for fitness fanatics there's plenty to do on board.
Passengers work with elite experienced athletes, including FlyGirl Jen, a social media HYROX Performance Coach who issued her own thoughts on the cruise experience.
"I came aboard excited to share my gifts, coach, and connect with people from around the world," she said after the experience.
"I imagined I'd leave feeling like I had found another piece of my tribe and I did!"
