Clever Dog Waits For Cars To Stop To Use Zebra Crossing
Why did the dog cross the road? Not sure, but this pooch certainly knows how to get to the other side safely. Watch the clip below:
If you grew up in the UK, you're probably not unaccustomed to being told how to cross the road properly by animals.
After all, our road safety campaign was spearheaded by two jovial hedgehogs for years - who could forget the 'stop look listen live' adverts?
As this amazing footage shows, however, it isn't just hedgehogs that have mastery over the pavement and the road. Watch as this clever dog gives a crash course in road safety.
The video was filmed using a car's dash cam and shows the vehicle approaching a zebra crossing, where a middling-to-large-size dog is patiently waiting.
The doggo is well on the pavement and out of the way of traffic - perfect positioning, really.

The driver of the car, seeing a pedestrian - pupdestrian, if you will, or perhaps a pedogstrian - waiting to cross. They halt before allowing the animal to go.
The dog is smarter than that still, however. The canine spots that the traffic coming in the other direction is yet to stop, and so doesn't begin the journey across the road until it's clearly safe to do so. Impressive stuff.
It's textbook stuff, really, and slightly embarrassing for those humans whose approach to road safety tends to err towards the 'set off and hope for the best' approach - which often leaves them stranded in the centre of the road, with traffic oncoming on both sides.
As for the clever, road trained pup, nobody has been able to identify them or work out just how they came to be so good at crossing roads. Also, nobody has been able to ascertain where the dog was going, or where their owner was, or why they needed to so patiently cross the street in the first place.
I mean, the little thing clearly doesn't need any help, but surely they must have an owner somewhere? An owner who should be giving their pup a massive treat after they accidentally became a viral superstar, naturally.
