A shocking and, quite frankly, tragic video has emerged documenting the aftermath of a man who has just smashed his brand new iPhone XS Max.
Loading…
Hailed as Apple's most expensive and highly anticipated phone yet, the XS Max is one of the most sought-after gadgets on the circuit.
A young man named Zhuo Ling-yi from Taiwan was lucky enough to get his hands on the model before it even went on sale to the public.
And what's the first thing you're going to do if you get an early release model? Post pictures of it all over Instagram, obviously.
But alas, when Zhuo went to take a snap of his brand new toy, the phone slipped out of his hands and smashed to pieces. Womp, womp.
He shared a video showing the busted OLED display, in which he says: "I smashed a Max! I smashed a Max. What's today's date?"
"The 21st, 12:17am," he adds while checking the date and time on another iPhone XS by tapping on its screen.
"It's not even on sale yet. Shit. I dropped it trying to film it. It's broken."
Just imagine the devastation you'd feel - this phone has been mired in rumours, leaks, speculation and mystery for months on end and he was lucky enough to get a copy before it had even gone on sale.
But before he could even utter 'Siri, where's the nearest Apple shop?', he'd destroyed the damn thing.
Zhuo didn't explain how he gained early access to the latest Apple flagship phones before they had officially gone on sale to the public in Taiwan this morning.
But he did reveal how much the blunder may cost him, stating: "Taiwan's first iPhone XS Max. It's been destroyed even before going on sale.
"I picked it up to take some photos and it fell on the floor. There goes my 50,000."
That's $50,000 TWD, i.e. around £1,200. Ouch!
This video will certainly add salt to the wound for those who have been waiting days outside of retailers for the new iPhones in Taiwan, one of the countries on the company's list of first-wave releases.
One dude named Mike even camped outside an Apple Store for 91 hours, bringing extra power banks and a change of clothes just so he could get his hands on one. Hopefully he didn't suffer the same fate as Zhuo - because that's one expensive fuck-up.
