Soldier Pulls Pin On Grenade And Hands It To His Mate
A Ukrainian soldier is in trouble after he pulled the pin from a grenade, passed it to his friend and ran off.
The pair had been fighting in the war in the Donbass region of eastern Ukraine and thus have plenty of incredibly dangerous weapons simply lying around.
One of them, who according to reports had recently returned from the Donbass, handed an item over to his pal, saying simply: "Here, hold this."
Of course the mate, being a mate, thinks that it might be a mobile phone, or literally anything other than what it is, which is a grenade with the pin pulled. Hilarious japes, though, y'know, on the dangerous side.
Mate 1 obviously scarpers, leaving Mate 2 in possession of an unpinned grenade and a somewhat quizzical look on his face.
Fortunately, Mate 2 knows what he is doing and pushes down on the safety lever on the grenade - the bit that the pin holds in place so that it doesn't explode - to stop it blowing up in his face.
This is, as one might imagine, merely a temporary solution to the problem: he begins screaming for someone to help him and generally making a scene, attempting to work out what to do with the grenade in his hand.

"A patrol of the 2nd platoon of the 3rd company of the 2nd battalion Alexander Tsukanov grabbed the hands of exhausted men," local police in Dnipro, where the incident took place, are quoted as saying.
"But even together they were hard to hold ammunition. Therefore, the police decided to bind his hands with duct tape and wait for the arrival of bomb experts."
Eventually, the bomb squad determined that the grenade was, in reality, a fake and did not contain any explosives.
It's all a hilarious joke until someone gets their eye put out. Or given a seven-year prison sentence, as Mate 1 is currently facing.
