A brave pooch dived into the sea and chased off a shark that was swimming near her owner.
Jack Strickland was filming at the Haggerstone Island Resort in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park when Tilly the kelpie bounded straight into the water and leapt towards the shark.

The shark was quick to change course and get away from Tilly, but, seemingly keen to prove once and for all that dogs really are man's best friend, she then swam out a little bit further, as though making sure that the shark had really left, before coming back to dry land.
I hope Jack was ready and waiting with some treats for her.
Jack posted the video to his Back 2 Basics Adventures Instagram page last week, writing: "Tilly the guard dog keeping the sharks away from Haggerstone Island."
And, as you can imagine, little Tilly has been heavily praised online, with one person commenting: "Brave dog."

Another wrote: "When the hunter becomes the hunted."
While a third said: "This is awesome."
Tilly is not the first heroic, shark-chasing animal we've seen this week.
A huge elephant seal named Solo was caught on camera, chasing a great white shark as it attempted to towards a seal colony in South Africa.

The footage was caught by 14-year-old Luka Oosthuizen at the Robberg Nature Reserve in Robberg and shows the massive seal moving quickly towards the shark before it got a chance to come too close to the seals.
Luka's mum Mariella Rossi said: "While filming, he realised that something the size of one of the underwater boulders was moving and chased the shark.
"This elephant seal apparently frequents our bay around seal-calving season and has been given the name Solo by residents!"

Solo is a big hit with tourists, according to Plettenberg Bay Tourism, he is the 'only annual elephant seal visitor', so has managed to get himself a bit of a reputation.
