'Purebred Frenchie' Bought For £600 Turns Out To Be Completely Different Breed Of Dog

A 'purebred Frenchie' bought for £600 ($815) on Gumtree turned out to be a different breed of dog altogether. Check out a viral video of the pooch here:

Bethany Cupples, from Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, bought the five-week-old puppy as a surprise birthday present for her mum back in May 2020.

The dog was advertised on Gumtree as a 'purebred Frenchie', but it was clear upon collecting the puppy that this wasn't the case.

Indeed, part-time cleaner Bethany had been 'very surprised' by the £600 price tag, given the in vogue dogs usually go for thousands.

But she 'instantly fell in love' with the puppy - which they've named Luna - and brought her back to join the family.

With every month since, it has become clearer and clearer that Luna isn't a purebred French bulldog, and a video showing the contrast between Luna as a puppy and Luna nowadays has gone viral.

Bethany posted the video on her TikTok account, where it has amassed 3.3 million views.

The family took Luna to a vet and it turns out she is in fact a 'Frorkie' - a French bulldog mixed with a Yorkshire terrier - and she is fit and healthy.

Bethany is no doubt that the seller made an honest mistake in advertising the dog as a purebred Frenchie, though she admitted she had 'no idea whatsoever' why Luna was priced at just £600.

Speaking to LADbible, the 21-year-old said: "The seller did just make a honest mistake, I wouldn't doubt the seller to be a bad seller or breeder.

"The condition the puppies were left in was immaculate, they weren't harmed or in harm's way.

"They were well-nourished and fed, but despite the age she left home, we have no concerns about the seller whatsoever."

Indeed, while Luna may not necessarily be the dog they were originally looking for, the family wouldn't change her for the world.

Bethany explained: "We did look for a Frenchie, but as soon as we laid eyes on her we instantly fell in love.

"No matter the breed or the price, we welcomed her into our family home with open arms.

"She made our family whole and we wouldn't change her for the world, she has the most amazing personality and is a funny individual. We love her to bits."
