Cast your mind back to this time in 2017.

Ed Sheeran was number one in the charts with ‘Shape of You’, England won the Six Nations and Emma Watson was back in cinemas for Disney's live-action Beauty and the Beast.

But there was also the big viral moment of one dad’s absolute nightmare.

Yes, the ‘BBC interview dad’ whose kids wanted in on his TV appearance.

Political analyst Robert E Kelly became an absolute social media sensation when he was speaking in a segment about North Korea for BBC News.

But as the bloke spoke from his home in Busan, South Korea, his kids made an unforgettable appearance in the background.

Professor Kelly’s then-four-year-old daughter, Marion, barged her way through the door and strutted her way over to her dad, causally resting on the desk beside him.

As he tried to remain professional and get Marion out of the shot, her baby brother James then wandered in on his walker.

The chaotic scene went down in TV history.

As he apologised for the absolute chaos behind him, his wife Jung-a zoomed into the room speedily trying to remove the kids while Professor Kelly continued his interview.

The moment made for some pretty iconic TV.

And seven years on from the hilarious moment, Kelly took to X (formerly Twitter) to mark the anniversary of the ‘BBC Dad blooper’ by sharing the iconic video.

He also posted some recent family snaps which show the kids all grown up, celebrating Marion’s 11th birthday and going on hikes.

Kelly shared also Christmas photos of the happy family in South Korea as users reminisced on the unforgettable interview - with many calling it one of the 'funniest' they'd ever seen.

One wrote: “This was one of the funniest interviews I've ever seen. I laughed so hard every time I watched it.

"Congrats to your wife. She was the real hero of the day.

"She came in like a superhero! Good on you for staying calm and your kids for making it fun.”

Another echoed: “This made a lot of people—especially PARENTS—laugh to tears. Pure gold!”

Others couldn’t get over how long it had been as they said: “I refuse to believe this was 7 years ago.”

Someone else just exclaimed: "SEVEN?!"

One user also said: “They are so grown. I remember this,” as others say it’s ‘still one of the best’.

Some even say ‘we need an interview’ with Marion as they say she had ‘massive swag’ due to her entrance walk.

Photos also included Marion's 11th birthday celebration.

Plenty went on to joke: “7? Wow. I would've sworn this happened during the lockdown of 2020. Your entire family was ahead of the curve.”

As another put: “Gosh. I hadn't realised how this was well before the rest of us were used to video conferencing as a way of working.

"Still love this video.”
