People Weren't Happy With Channel 5's Decision To Air 'Watership Down' During Easter Sunday

Bad timing.

We all know that Easter is primarily a time to stuff our faces with chocolate eggs which have weirdly been dropped off by a mythical bunny.

As odd as it is that a strange rabbit breaks into houses leaving eggs around for kids, it's a beloved character for children. Which is why people weren't too happy with Channel 5's choice to air Watership Down during Easter Sunday.

If you've never seen it before, Watership Down is a film which shows cartoon rabbits being violently murdered. They may as well have followed it up with Of Mice and Men so children could see Lennie being shot when all he wants to do is tend the rabbits. Go the whole nine yards, you know?

Many disgruntled viewers took to Twitter to voice their disgust.

The complaints from parents are entirely understandable. However, there's this new thing, it's called a remote. It changes channels for you and everything. I know, it's madness, I'm still trying to get my head around it.
