Granddaughters Take Nan To Britain’s Rudest Restaurant Without Telling Her What It Is

The grandmother was left shocked at the way staff were speaking to her

A poor unsuspecting grandmother was caught completely off guard when she was taken to Britain's rudest restaurant without having a clue what to expect.

No matter where you might be, if you're a customer at a restaurant you usually have a few ideas of what to expect: namely food, drinks, and staff who don't mock you and swear at you.

Though the infamous Karen's Diner in Sheffield ticks the first two boxes, it's probably not somewhere you want to go if you're looking to have staff greet you with a smile.

Unfortunately, the grandmother of TikToker Charlie Lianne wasn't warned about this before she went to eat there, and so was naturally a bit confused when the seemingly frustrated host at the restaurant stopped her in her tracks, saying: "You don't just sit yourself down love, it's a f*cking restaurant."

The host continued with their tirade until the grandmother asked who they were swearing at, to which they responded: "You!"

Surprised, the grandmother went to stand up for herself as she began to swear back at the host, but it wasn't long before other staff members got involved, telling her she was 'malting' and asking if she was 'surrounded by cats at home'.

It might sound like a shocking exchange, but it's actually entirely in keeping with the vibe of Karen's Diner, which describes itself as having 'great burgers and very rude service'.

The website explains: "Karens is an interactive diner and an absurdly fun experience. At Karens you will be greeted and waited upon by rude waiters who in return are expecting you to give it full Karen. A place where you can complain until the cows come home because we literally don't care.

"You can expect good food, good fun and a dining experience like you've never had before. Let us know if it's your birthday, if your name is Karen and for the love of Karen don't ask to speak to the manager...."

Staff at the restaurant are no doubt used to entertaining customers who are expecting to be made fun of, so thankfully it wasn't long before they realised Lianne's grandmother was not clued in on the experience.

The host then took it upon themselves to explain the experience, saying they do 'sh*t service' and offer 'lots of profanity', but assuring it's 'not personal'.

Staff then turned their attention to the two laughing women with the grandmother, who couldn't get over at the poor gran's shock. The host dubbed them 'nasty b*stards' before taking to the microphone to announce their actions to the entire restaurant, causing the customers to burst out laughing.

Though it might not have been the most pleasant dining experience the grandmother ever had, I'm sure she'll remember it for a long time to come!
