Hay fever 'hacks' are rife this time of the year: having sex is supposed to alleviate symptoms or pressing your tongue to the roof of your mouth. But what if we told you a £2.50 ($3.50) investment could change the game? Watch one TikToker reveal all here:

Ellie Gorley turned to the video-sharing platform to show people what they're missing out on - the humble eye mask.

According to the TikToker, the best thing to do is pop the Primark purchase in the freezer before resting it on your itchy eyes to give you that instant relief.

Doing this can also help to reduce the headache that can come with hay fever.

Ellie captioned her post: "That time of year #hayfeverproblems #hayfevercheck #hayfeverhacks," before writing on the video itself: "Everyone with hay fever needs one of these. You put it in the freezer - so good."

Her video has since been watched nearly 635,000 times with more than 52,000 likes.

Many people commented on the clip expressing their longing for a hay fever fix, one wrote: "I need one so it don't look like I'm crying all the time."

Another added: "I now need to invest in one thanks," while a third said: "Someone said it's good for migraines as well."

On the website we can see that Primark sell a number of gel eye masks for £2.50 although many have covers over them which you'd just need to remove.

If you are unable to get your mitts on a gel eye mask, you could also try a quickie... hear us out.

According to research (so it must be true), there's a link between the reproductive system and the nasal system - basically, sex constricts the blood vessels in the nose and eyes, causing noses to unblock and eyes to stop watering.

It's worth pointing out that the boffins down at Tabriz Medical University didn't perform any clinical tests on this, but their work was published in a serious medical journal called Medical Hypotheses.

Oh and, as the relief was specifically linked to ejaculation, this is of more use to blokes than women.

If sex isn't the answer to your problems, you could give some pollen wipes a crack. Priced at just £1 from Lloyds Pharmacy, they've been described as 'amazing'.

The handy little wipes went down a storm last summer, with one customer saying: "These are absolutely amazing! I used these last year! Must get some more, hay fever full on atm."
