Unbelievable video captured from plane is called 'best UFO footage ever'

The pilot has insisted the object wasn't a balloon or drone

The pilot of a small plane has been credited with capturing what's been described as the 'best UFO footage ever' after the clip went viral online.

It would happen on a small plane, wouldn't it? Not on a big commercial jet with hundreds of hungry, bored witnesses staring out of the window, phones at the ready, just wishing for something as exciting as a UFO to distract from the fact the snack trolley is still way down the other end of the aisle.

The UFO was spotted from a plane.

Just another perk of being rich, I guess. Not only do you get to skip the hassle of queuing at the gate and fighting with other customers over space in the overhead bin, but you also get the best view of aliens.

The person who caught this particular view is believed to be Jorge A. Arteaga, a pilot who spotted the sight while flying over Colombia.

Arteaga managed to capture the scene on camera - an impressive feat, while also flying a plane - showing the propeller of the small plane and a strange dark object flying towards the camera.

The object was seen by both the pilot and the co-pilot.

As it got closer, the object became clearer and appeared to be light in colour, pointy at the front and round at the back.

It quickly zoomed off out of sight, but definitely not out of mind.

Arteaga spoke out about the clip after it was shared online, with Mexican ufologist Jaime Maussan confirming the video’s authenticity.

In an interview with Maussan, Arteaga said the object was initially stationary and appeared to float in the air between Medellín and Santa Fe.

His co-pilot also spotted the object, watching it as it approached the aircraft.

Arteaga reportedly manoeuvred the plane to follow the UFO, claiming that it didn't look or behave like a balloon, drone or aircraft.

Maussan spoke with the pilot after the footage emerged.

After the video of the UFO was shared online it was picked up by UFO enthusiast The Hidden Underbelly, who posted it on YouTube and wrote: "In this footage we get a clear view of this object and this looks damn good. It seems to be a saucer shape craft."

The clip has since been shared elsewhere across the internet, prompting some to declare it 'the best UFO footage ever'.

The footage has been shared widely online.

Maussan seems to agree, as he shared a snippet of his interview with Arteaga and wrote: "We are facing one of the greatest UAP (UFO) evidences of all time; captured by the Captain Pilot Aviator @JorgeArteagaG."

So, if it's not a balloon, it's not a bird, and it's definitely not another plane, what could it be?
