When a long day's dragging, we all enjoy those unexpected moments where someone manages to inject a bit of entertainment into proceedings. Well... unless you're the unfortunate soul that ends up on the other end of the joke, like this sunbather:

In the clip, when the operator of a crane spots an innocent sunworshipper making the most of some lovely weather, he decides to have some fun.

Towering hundreds of feet in the air, the operator speaks to a colleague on a walkie-talkie and they laugh at their wind-up.

He moves the huge crane so that it blocks the sun's rays from reaching the poor fella lying on the patch of grass below. Before long, the guy stands up and moves his towel to a different location - only for the worker to move the crane with him.

After he moved.

Speaking to the colleague in the clip, the crane's operator says: "I put the shade on this geezer, look. He's moving, I'm filming it.

"Look, he's getting up and moving cos I've blocked him in shade. As soon as he moves I'm going to move the block. Look, he's moving out of the shadow.

"What a plonker, I'm going to move my block now, I bet he goes and complains. As soon as he lays down, he's gonna love it. Get him to move again."

It's kinda mean, but it's gold.

As soon as he lay back down, the shade was back.

The joker becomes hysterical as the sunbather gets up and moves his towel before lying down once again and getting comfortable.

Around 30 seconds later the crane is blocking the sun once again.

The video went viral on Twitter with people loving the two-minute clip. One wrote: "This is so much funnier than it should be." Another added: "It's how much fun the crane driver is having, just childish laughter which makes a lovely change. Pure innocent."

A third said: "I'm laughing way more than I should at this. But, when you're that high up all on your own, then what a better way to while away the hours?!"

Another person, who wasn't taken by the video at first wrote: "I started off thinking this wasn't funny, but as soon as it starts creeping over it got me and now i cant stop."
