A man has taken to TikTok to show how he helped a young woman who was being made to feel uncomfortable during a shopping trip.

In a bid to encourage others to do the same, Brandon Robert approached the girl in the store - who he says was being followed by a 'weird man' - and spoke to her as if he knew her.

At the beginning of the video, a caption reads: "There is this weird man making this girl uncomfortable in the store. I'm going to pretend I know her."

He then walks over and says: "Oh my God - hi, how are you?" Before asking: "Who's that?" Picking up on his actions, the woman goes along and replies: "Oh my God, hi. Good, how're you?"

To move the lady away from the 'creep', Brandon goes on to explain that his 'aunt' is in another part of the store to which she responds: "Really? Aunt Claire?"

The pair then walk away together and the woman can be heard saying to Brandon: "Thank you so much," before adding: "He asked if I want to go back to his place."

Brandon tells her: "I was watching him from across the freaking room. He was touching you. Are you OK?" The anonymous woman confirmed she was OK.

The clip has been viewed over 35 million times and has over 11.5 million likes with more than 110,000 comments.

One person asked: "Can Aunt Claire be the universal code now?" While another added: "Guys PLEASE do this. It really does help because unfortunately these men will only leave a girl alone when another man comes."

A third said: "AUNT CLAIRE WE LOVE HER."

A fourth wrote: "You handled this so well. One getting her out of the situation, two asking how he was treating her and three making sure she was OK."

Another congratulated the woman for picking up on what Brandon was doing in the first place. They said: "She is smart because she caught on right away some girls would have been like 'who are you?'"

Brandon later gave an update, saying: "I'm happy this is sending a good message to my fellow gentlemen. Protect our ladies."
