Bizarre Conspiracy Theory Claims Australia Doesn't Exist
If you've been dreaming of a lovely trip Down Under then I have some very bad news for you, Australia doesn't actually exist.
You may think it exists, you may know someone who claims to be from there, you may even be convinced that you've been there yourself - but, according to this bizarre theory, you are dead wrong.
The weird theory surfaced last year, around about the same time that Flat Earthers started making headlines, but it actually dates back quite a while and even has its own forum thread on the Flat Earth Society's page dating back to 2006, which has attracted hundreds of replies and thousands of views.
The post reads: "Most of you have probably been brought up believing in the imaginary land called Australia. I bet many of you even learned about it in school. I am here to tell you the truth.
"Well, the fact is that Australia doesn't really exist. Everything you have ever heard about it was made up, and any pictures of it you have seen were faked by the government. I am sure you have even talked to people on the internet who claim to be from Australia. They are really secret government agents who are surfing the internet to enforce these false beliefs.
