Woman Continually Pulls Up To Pump With Fuel Cap On Wrong Side

Woman Continually Pulls Up To Pump With Fuel Cap On Wrong Side

Tale as old as time

We've all pulled up to a petrol pump with the fuel cap on the wrong side. It happens. But have you ever done it several times in a row? The woman below has, and it makes for amusing viewing:

The director of this comedy began filming after he noticed the woman had already pulled up to the wrong side twice already.

Once is of course permissible, but bewildered as to how she had done it twice in a row, he then did the noble thing and started recording as she returned to her car once again.

Narrating the motorist's efforts, the anonymous man behind the camera says: "This is the second time she's done this, so she should now drive so that it's on the driver's side, so that the tank is on the driver's side."

But as the woman begins to manoeuvre her car once again, it becomes apparent that she's going to make the same mistake again - much to our commentator's dismay.

He says: "Oh no! Oh no. She knows, she has to know. She just saw that it's not on the passenger's side... OK, so she's pulled up again on the wrong side."

The woman then gets out and walks right past her fuel cap before turning in shock as she realises she's made the same mistake yet again.

As she clambers back in the car, our narrator says: "OK, OK, now she's got it. Now she's got it."

But his faith proves to be misplaced, as the woman proceeds to swing the car around to the right, park up and get out - once again with the cap on the wrong side.

Life is all about learning from your mistakes.

Unfortunately, that's as far as the clip goes, but rumour has it the woman ran out of fuel before she was able to pull up to the correct side... Just kidding, she got it the next time, after the woman in the commentator's car got out to help her.

You've got to feel for her though. As if her fuel-based mishap wasn't frustrating and embarrassing enough, the video has now been shared widely on social media and has proven a viral hit, amassing more than 12 million views.

Well, if it's any consolation to her, it certainly brightened up my day.

If you ever find yourself forgetting which side your fuel cap is on, it's worth looking at the fuel icon on your dashboard, which will often have a little arrow pointing to the correct side. If there's no arrow, then the handle of the pump on the icon should be on the correct side.
