A mum got a fright when she checked her baby monitor and thought she saw a ghost baby lying next to her son, only to discover that it was an optical illusion brought about by the fact that her husband forgot to put a mattress protector on.
OK, so Halloween isn't actually for while yet, but it is at this time of year that things can start to get a bit creepy.
The shadows lengthen, the wind blows things around, and sometimes - just sometimes - you spot a spectral child sleeping next to your baby son in his cot.
So, this isn't a new Hollywood horror blockbuster, this is what actually happened to mum and dad Maritza and Arvid Cibuls.
When checking the baby monitor, as you'd usually do, Maritza saw what looks to be a ghost baby just kipping away next to her young son.
However, when they went to check, they realised that the mattress protector wasn't there and what they could actually see was a picture of a baby's face on the cot.
Whew, that's a relief, at least.
Seeking to get a laugh out of their situation, Maritza shared the post to her Facebook page and wrote: "So, last night I was positive there was a ghost baby in the bed with my son. I was so freaked out, I barely slept.
"I even tried creeping in there with a flashlight while my son was sleeping. Well, this morning I go to investigate a bit further. It turns out my husband just forgot to put the mattress protector on when he changed the sheets.
"I could kill him."
Oh dear.
Luckily, the public - as well as Maritza - can see the funny side. Since it was shared, the post has been liked more than 350,000 times and shared more than 205,000 times.
Wow, those are some big numbers.
Speaking about the post, and the reaction afterwards, Maritza told LADbible: "The whole thing has been pretty crazy.
"This really all just started when I thought I saw 'ghost baby' and posted it in one of my mom groups asking if they see it too. Once we figured out what it actually was, we all got a good laugh and some of the ladies asked if I could make the post public to share it.
"Neither my husband nor I thought it would spread so far!
"It bothers us a bit that some people aren't very nice (calling me a bad mom, saying I photoshopped it, etc.) but we're trying to let it roll off us.
"This story isn't meant to be looked into so deeply. It's just a creepy story that had a funny ending.
"Never once did we ever believe our son was in any danger (and for the record, I did check on him periodically throughout the night). We just wanted to spread a little humour."
Hey, we could all use a bit of that at the minute.
