Man makes chilling discovery after following creepy overgrown staircase in the middle of forest

He decided to explore the creepy underground entrance and filmed it for his followers

An explorer made a shocking find while on a hike through the forest, and shared it with his followers after filming it all.

Social media content creator Josh regularly goes out of his way to explore some of the world's oddest places and structures.

To be fair, he's doing what most of us will never really have the guts to do.

He often uses Google Earth for inspiration to find these creepy spots, but this particular clip was one he stumbled on by chance.

Josh said that he was 'not meant to find this place' in a viral clip posted on TikTok, explaining that he found an 'overgrown entrance' while on a hike through the forest, with the video boasting over 18 million views at the time of writing.

Explaining that it led underground, he added: "Heading inside to explore it, I found myself in a maze of long tunnels and secret rooms. This is definitely one of the creepiest abandoned places I have explored!"

Making his way through the overgrown branches and plants, he made his way down some stairs, unable to see what was at the bottom without a torch.

Describing it as 'creepy', he got to the bottom of the stairs and found himself in the dark.

Standing alone in a pitch black tunnel, he used his torch to go even deeper underground and after walking around, the explorer found an open steel door that led to another set of stairs going further below the surface.

Reaching the bottom, he panned the camera to show what he was seeing, as there was what appeared to be footprints all over the tunnel walls.

Exploring further, he found that conditions in the tunnel worsened as it led to other empty rooms.

Josh admitted: "I still had no idea what this place was so I went to find some clues."

After finding and opening a green door, he found another waterlogged area with a rusty item that couldn't really be specified.

Going on, he 'finally found something' that he recognised, pointing out that 'these were definitely toilets', due to the white tiling.

Making his way to the end of the tunnel, while noting that he should probably head back to the surface as he left his bag behind, the content creator had a slight panic as he thought he heard something.

At the end of the tunnel were a few rooms, while he said that the door looked like it had been 'blown up', though the room had an empty bookcase in it.

The explorer found another set of stairs that led back to civilisation and noted: "I still have no idea what this could have been, but whatever it was, they wanted to keep it a secret."

One user warned in the comments: "BE CAUTIOUS OF DEAD AIR!!!"

While another added: "I don't understand why would you go alone??? This is (an) extremely dangerous act."

A third agreed, saying: "First rule when going at such a place: NEVER go there ALONE. You never know what could find you..."
