Woman Adds Signature To Presentation To Stop Boss Stealing Her Work

Woman Adds Signature To Presentation To Stop Boss Stealing Her Work

Cristina Sevceno was tired of not getting recognition for her work

A woman has shared a brilliant idea she used to stop her boss from taking her work and passing it off as her own. You can check out the video here:

Cristina Sevceno, 25, was working in a corporate job back in 2019 and spent two long weeks carrying out in depth market research, revealing some strong insights that would help the business.

But one day, Cristina happened to walk past a meeting and saw her hard work being passed off as her boss’s own.

She told Buzzfeed: "I walked by an office and saw my work being presented in a room full of very powerful people.

"However, my name was not once mentioned. It broke my heart.

"Although my manager once told me that I would rarely be the one presenting my work for the higher management, she never told me that they wouldn't even bother to change anything in the presentation but my name.”

Cristina was so upset she later decided to broach the subject with her boss, explaining that it wasn’t about the prospect of bonuses or promotions, but simply a recognition for the hard work she’d done.

However, her boss quickly dismissed the matter and ‘moved on’.

So this was when Cristina put her genius plan to action, and ensured her boss would no longer be able to nick her ideas, by hiding an unmovable, digital signature within the presentation.

This meant that whenever someone downloaded the PowerPoint, they’d come across her watermark.

Cristina’s clip has since gone viral, pulling in almost four million views and attracting plenty of praise.

One wrote: "Well played!"

Another said: "I'm going to need a tutorial."

Someone else commented: "I like how you think! Little Easter eggs! I’ve done that."

While others claimed the exact same thing had happened to them. "My manager even more sneaky, he calls me before meetings and asks my opinion, then on the meeting expresses it as his own," one woman wrote.

But Cristina actually doesn’t recommend that you guys copy her idea in your own workplace.

She told Buzzfeed that once the manager saw the watermark she was asked to remove it and given a talk about ‘how things work around here’.

She said from that point her career ‘slowed down’ and she was eventually replaced. Well, I think you dodged a bullet there, Cristina.
