Laura Kenny CBE has made it through to the next round of the Women's Team Pursuit after coming in second place in the qualifier round on 2nd August. The Mancunian is a four-time Olympic gold medalist and has been named the most successful female track cyclist in Olympic history.

Laura's husband is also an Olympian, so they can be there cheering each other on as they compete for gold.

Who is Laura Kenny's husband Jason Kenny?

The 29-year-old married her husband, Jason Kenny CBE, in September 2016. Jason Kenny is also a gold medal track cyclist and he specialises in individual and team Sprints.

"I find it much harder watching Laura than competing myself. I understand how my mum and dad have felt for my whole career now," Jason told Olympic.org in 2019. "They'd be stressed and I'd say, 'What are you worried about?' But now I get it. You're not in control, but you just want them to do well."

Jason's passion for cycling started the moment he learned to ride a bike from age three. Apparently he borrowed his older brother's bike and taught himself to ride.

How old is Jason Kenny?

Jason was born on 23rd March 1988 in Farnworth, Manchester, making him 33-years-old in 2021.

Jason Kenny's medals

Kenny is the joint-holder of the highest number of gold medals for a British Olympian, with six in total.

After winning multiple World and European Junior titles in 2006 and achieving medals in the under 23 European championships in 2007, Kenny made his Olympic debut for Great Britain at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.

Jason broke a world record in the qualifying round for the Men's Team Sprint at the 2008 Summer Olympics. He went on to win a gold and silver medal there.

At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he bagged gold medals for both the Team Sprint and Individual Sprint.

In 2016, he walked away with three gold medals from Rio for the Men's Individual and Men's Team Sprint and the Keirin.

So between the two of them, Jason and Laura are going to need a decent sized trophy cabinet to display all of these medals.

How many children do Jason and Laura Kenny have?

Laura and Jason have one son, Albie, who was born in August 2017.
