Dave Bautista and Jason Momoa are set to star in The Wrecking Crew, a buddy action comedy directed by Ángel Manuel Soto.
According to The Wrap, The Wrecking Crew was written by Jonathan Tropper (creator of the TV series Warrior) prior to the WGA strike and the deal was also negotiated and closed before the strike.
Bautista and Momoa were both in talks for the film way ahead of the launch of the SAG-AFTRA strike in July.
Plot details are under wraps at the moment but it's being described as a 'buddy action comedy'.
Most recently, Soto directed Blue Beetle, the first DC film and the first live-action film to feature a Latino superhero as the lead.
Blue Beetle follows the story of Jaime Reyes, a Mexican-American teenager who unexpectedly becomes the superhero Blue Beetle, after he finds himself in possession of an ancient relic of alien biotechnology called the Scarab.
The film stars Susan Sarandon, George Lopez, Xolo Maridueña, and Harvey Guillén and it opened at number one at the box office over the weekend, grossing $25 million.
This year, Bautista has already starred in M. Night Shyamalan’s Knock at the Cabin, as well as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which brought his time as Drax the Destroyer in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to a close.

He was also a part of the ensemble cast of Brittany Snow’s directorial debut Parachute, which premiered earlier this year at SXSW, and will star in the upcoming Dune: Part Two.
Momoa returned to play villain Dante in Fast X and will star in Warner Bros’ long-awaited sequel Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, which premieres on December 20.
Other upcoming projects for the Momoa include Apple TV+’s historical drama series Chief of War, Warner Bros’ Minecraft and Legendary’s hybrid live-action/animated feature Animal Friends.
