On My Block Is one of the most talked-about Netflix series at the moment after season four dropped at the end of September. So, what's next for the franchise?
Unfortunately, season four was the final season of On My Block, which is why (spoiler alert) we saw the deaths of two of the main characters in the series.
But before you click off this page, there is some good news - Netflix has confirmed it's making a spinoff of On My Block.

The spinoff TV show will be called Freeridge - the name of the inner city neighbourhood the characters of On My Block live in - and instead of Monse, Ruby, Jamal and Cesar, and Jasmine, there will be four new best friends.
Netflix confirmed the new spinoff series at the same time season four was released.
What is Freeridge about?
Although we won't be seeing the OG four friends in the On My Block spinoff, we're told by Netflix that the same stories and crazy situations will be carried over into Freeridge.

"The stories of Freeridge continue in this On My Block spinoff following a new crew of friends who may or may not have unleashed a deadly curse kicking off an unforgettable adventure."
Some of the showrunners for On My Block will be back to work on Freeridge too apparently. They put a statement out alongside Netflix's announcement of the new series and said:
"Some of the greatest comments we've heard about On My Block were from fans telling us that they felt seen and represented. As we embark on Freeridge, a more female driven show, we will continue to invest in authentic characters that represent our passionate audience... Oh, and there may be gnomies."
When is Freeridge out on Netflix?
As Freeridge has only just been announced, a release date hasn't been set yet. We'll let you know as soon as one is confirmed.

We know there will be four new main characters, but as it's the same town, you never know, some of the OGs could come back home and feature in the background.
