Aubrey Plaza got kicked out of MTV Awards after storming stage in shocking incident with Will Ferrell

Aubrey Plaza once got kicked out of the MTV Awards after storming the stage while Will Ferrell was accepting the award – a moment so bizarre that audience members weren’t sure whether or not it was staged.
Relive the shocking incident here:
Awards shows are known to produce a fair amount of drama, from Lady Gaga’s infamous 2010 meat dress and Britney Spears performing live with an albino python, right through to last year’s major Oscars scandal when Will Smith planted a slap on host Chris Rock.
Then there was Kanye’s unexpected strop about Taylor Swift’s VMA in 2009 – an award he said should have gone to Beyonce.
“Yo Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’mma let you finish. But Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time,” he shouted into the mic, as Beyonce looked up from her seat looking nothing short of mortified.
Of course, throw a bunch of celebs into a room with egos and booze and you’re surely asking for trouble.
Ferrell was accepting his Comedic Genius accolade when the Parks and Recreation star stormed on stage, drink in hand.
She ran over to him and tried to grab the award, saying nothing as she attempted to yank it away from him.
“Are you okay?” Ferrell asked her, still holding onto his award.
“Yup,” replied Plaza, who had the name of her film at the time – The To Do List – written across her chest.
She then shuffled back to her seat, before being kicked out of the event.
Ferrell said all he smelt was 'a lot of hot liquor breath', with MTV denying that the moment had been staged.
MTV later posted a timeline of the ‘incident’ on its website, confirming she had been asked to leave.
It all started at precisely 10.10pm, when Plaza walked on stage.
“After trying to steal his award, Ferrell asks if she's OK. She says ‘yup’ and returns to her seat,” MTV said.
“She looks fairly horrified as Ferrell announces her to the crowd, but in a gesture of sympathy, he pretends that the bit was planned and went off without a hitch. She seems moderately relieved and smiles uneasily.”
At 10.12pm, during the next commercial break, Plaza was ‘asked to leave the venue by MTV executives and the head of Viacom security’, with MTV adding this was ‘without incident’.
Plaza then left the Sony Pictures Studios lot at 10.20pm, just 10 minutes after things kicked off.
